iriver E100 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

In the crowded market for multimedia players, you need to have something fresh just to stay afloat. That something seems to be missing from iriver’s E100. It weighs 2.1-ounces and it measures just enough for your pockets without sagging it. It has a 2.4-inch LCD that displays 320 x 240-pixel resolution. The reviewer noted that despite the seemingly large LCD display, photos and videos still looked cramped when viewed in the E100. The design looks bland and the material used feels cheap. The directional pad can be quite cumbersome and unresponsive, requiring accurate presses just to recognize the commands. Just like multimedia players in the market, the E100 supports a bevy of formats for both video and audio. As an added bonus, the E100 supports unlimited download services such as Rhapsody. Performance-wise, the E100 joins the bandwagon of mediocre players. The bundled earphones produced average sounds while the speaker performed roughly the same. The reviewer noted that the bass was easily distorted when volume is raised. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the iPod Nano, there are other players out there that are more attractive and more worthy of your cash.
Pros:
-Many audio and video formats supported
-microSD slot available
Cons:
-Fussy controls
-Cheap design
