After being limited to the Windows Mobile, Zumobi now extends its useful application to BlackBerrys. The free Zumobi application features small programs called Tiles. These Tiles draw content from the Web, so you might want to avail of an unlimited data plan. An SMS message bearing the download link for Zumobi will be sent to you once you sign-up. Downloading time depends on the carrier; AT&T took 4 minutes and 30 seconds over its EDGE network. Installation added another 30 seconds and an additional 3 minutes more to install the initial four tiles. The new interface of Zumobi is an improvement. Instead of a large field of tiles, it just focuses on four tiles, giving it a cleaner look. There are now 202 tiles to choose from, another improvement from the previous 75 tiles. Because Blackberrys don’t have touchscreen, number keys correspond to different group of tiles. However, the reviewer noted that the app was a bit sluggish regardless of whether the user was using a touchscreen or not. Nonetheless, if you want to be always updated on the news and social networks, you might want to check out the free Zumobi.
