Westinghouse HDTVs are known for being affordable and, at the same time, full-featured. The largest 1080p LCD TV to date of Westinghouse, the 52-inch TX-52F480S, is no exception. Deviating from the previous matte design, its first 52-inch HDTV sports a glossy black bezel. The unit measures 34.8 by 50.6 by 10.3 inches and weighs 86.8 pounds with its base attached. For its price, the TX-52F480S provides a generous assortment of 1080p-compatible video ports that includes four HDMI, two component video, and a VGA connection. It has a native 1080p60 (60-Hz) display and includes a handy picture-scaling option that eliminates overscan when displaying 720p and 1080i/p HD video. This HDTV has an adjustable backlight that's useful for optimizing the picture's overall brightness quickly and easily for varying lighting conditions. The reviewer noted that in the HQV Benchmark DVD's rotating bar test, there were some jagged-edge artifacts present. For fast moving imagery, the performance is average, though a subtle trail was left during the HQV Benchmark DVD's looping roller-coaster sequence. During real-world testing, the TV did a remarkably good job of minimizing jaggies and flicker. A 52-inch 1080p LCD, a bevy of HD-compatible video ports and useful picture controls make the TX-52F480S a real sweet deal.
Pros:
-good 1080p-compatible video ports selection
-high contrast ratio

Cons:
-no picture-in-picture
-no on-screen feedback with manual input switching.
