Western Digital My DVR Expander Reviews
Summary of review published by PC Magazine — February, 2008
Western Digital’s My DVR Expander is for those who want to record most programs they watch on their TiVo. It gives you an additional 500 GB of storage space, which is enough to store up to 60 hours of high-definition video or 300 hours of standard definition video. You can only use this on TiVo Series 3 HD as previous versions don’t have any eSATA port. Installation is easy but you need to read your TiVo manual and follow the instructions or else you might lose your recorded programs. My DVR Expander is the better update choice than the old internal upgrade solution.
Pros:
-More recording space
-Works with most DVRs and HD-capable TiVo
-Silent
Cons:
-Uncertified with Motorola DVRs
-Expensive
-Can’t be used on a PC
-Doesn’t work with Series 1 and 2 TiVos
