Webroot Parental Controls Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

Joining the ranks of parental control programs is the Webroot Parental Controls. Unique in Webroot is the ease of customizing predefined profiles. With Webroot you can easily specify what can be accessed and how long they can stay connected in the Internet. The default profiles included Youngster, which allowed for 10 hours of internet time and access to mySpace while the Teen restricts X-rated sites and allows for 25 hours. However, the Webtroot Parental Controls falls short on some major issues. The reviewer noted that it lacks the capability to notify parents of attempts to visit inappropriate sites. Another more glaring issue is the lack of IM support. Webroot does not log instant messaging text unlike most of the other parental control programs. Overall, it does provide customized profiles for what you need but with the lack of IM logging support, Webroot Parental Controls falls short in terms of control.
Pros:
-Easy to setup
-Customizable profiles
Cons:
-No IM logging support
