Verizon KPC680 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — February, 2008

If you are tired of having to go and look for WiFi hotspots just to surf the web, then the Verizon Wireless KPC680 ExpressCard may just change your Internet experience. The KPC680 is a slim card with a rotating antenna that connects you to the web via Verizons Wireless’ EV-DO Rev. A broadband network. Getting to install the KPC680 is quite simple with the included VZAccess Manager CD-ROM. The reviewer tested the KPC680 and found that in areas with strong signal strengths, it performed better than the Novatel v740. When tested during a train ride, the Kyocera KPC680’s signal held on. The reviewer was able to browse and instant message through Google Talk without a hiccup. On areas with marginal to poor signals, the reviewer noted that mobile notebooks with integrated mobile broadband had a stronger signal to Verizon Wireless’ network. The reviewer said that if you are a Verizon customer and your notebook has an ExpressCard slot, the KPC680 is the way to go for broadband access wherever you roam.
Pros:
-Stylish
-Good speed (depending on signal)
Cons:
-Fragile looking antenna
