V7 Nav740 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — February, 2008

Low price doesn’t always mean low quality when it comes to GPS units. And the same holds true for the V7 Nav740. Though the bezel may look cheap, the reviewer noted that the Nav470 wasn’t found lacking. With a 4.3-inch touchscreen which is rare at its price, an up-to-date POI database of 11 million, a media player, TMC traffic upgradeability, the reviewer stated that the Nav740 doesn’t lack in features. Driving with the Nav740 was a pleasure for the reviewer, thanks to its street name pronunciation. It is offered with 4 languages but only 1 with text-to-speech. The reviewer, however, stated that the rear speaker is quite poor and voice comes out crackly. When it comes to routing, though it reroutes just as fast as more expensive units, it doesn’t favor larger, faster roads. It may have some rough spots but given its price and compared with its features, the V7 Nav740 is great bargain.
Pros:
-Low price
-Street name pronunciation available
-Large screen
-Media player
Cons:
-Design looks cheap
-Crackly voice
-Routing doesn’t choose better roads
