Ugobe Pleo Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — March, 2008

Ugobe’s Pleo is a lifelike robotic dinosaur. It feels like you have a real live dinosaur as a pet. It’s just a bit expensive. It weighs 3.5 pounds and stands 7.5 inches. The Pleo responds to touch, visual stimuli and physical positioning. Its eyes open and close to simulate life though that is the only thing it really do. Its main sensor is its nose, which is a color camera. There are also infrared sensors in its mouth and snout. The Pleo walks and runs smoothly but slow. The author warns that the Leo is not for small children. Its skin could easily be damage and expose the delicate machinery inside. The Pleo is for 8 to 12 years old and for robot enthusiasts of all ages.
Pros:
-Attractive
-Lifelike
-Smart
-With personality
-Would change over time
Cons:
-Expensive
-Short battery life
-Audible machine parts
-Soft but rough skin
