Toshiba TDP-PX10 Projector Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — November, 2008

It may be small, but the Toshiba TDP-PX10U is no slouch in the display department. The PX10U’s diminutive size and weight of just 2.9 pounds make it a highly portable projector. Even with all the cables and the remote control, travel weight is only 4.2 pounds. And with the built-in USB port that lets users display a JPEG slideshow from a USB drive, you won’t even need to bring a laptop with you. The reviewer noted that the images beamed by the PX10U were exceptionally sharp, with rock-steady images with no flicker or image noise. Lab tests were a different story, however. Brightness was measured at 1402 lumens which is way below the advertised value of 2000 ANSI lumens. The contrast ratio was only 163:1â€"far lower than ratios for similar DLP projectors. The reviewer’s biggest beef is the loud cooling fan. It emits a noise that has a higher pitch and more noticeable than most projectors. Nonetheless, if portability is the top priority, then the Toshiba TDP-PX10U should be high on your list.
Pros:
-portable
-sharp image quality
-has a USB connector
Cons:
-low contrast ratio
-noisy cooling fan
