The Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D-EZ1001V is no power notebook by any stretch of the imagination. Offered as a budget laptop by Toshiba, it comes in a no-frills package meant for work and play. Under the silver matte lid is a matching black keyboard and bezel. The keyboard has keys which the reviewer stated to be ample and easy to type on, though a bit noisy. The 15.4-inch, 1280 x 800-pixel display showed good color and brightness. Viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically were quite good. Sound quality is average, though just loud enough to listen to in a quiet room. It has the basic ports you’d come to expect in a notebook, nothing more. The reviewer also noted that the L300D-EZ1001V lacked a webcam. For security features, aside from the 3D accelerometers, it only comes with Computrace support and a fingerprint reader. Benchmark scores are below average and boot up clocked in at 2 minutes but multitasking with the L300D-EZ1001V isn’t a problem. Another caveat with the L300D-EZ1001V is the mediocre battery life, lasting only 1:40 on a DVD rundown test. If budget is a serious consideration, the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D-EZ1001V might just do the trick.
