Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — February, 2008

Hailing from what was one of the most versatile desktop replacements in 2007, the Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690 is an improvement to an already excellent notebook. Armed with a 17-inch, 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution Ultimate TruBrite widescreen display and the powerful Harman Kardon Bass Reflex speakers, the reviewer found the G45-AV690 as one of the best multimedia notebooks around. Benchmarks score were quite good, showing that the AV690 can handle all except the most demanding games in the market. Battery life was found to be longer than the AV680, clocking in at 3 hours and 25 minutes on a charge. The reviewer stated that the biggest caveat of the AV690 is the inclusion of the beaten HD-DVD drive instead of Blu-ray. And because it comes as a package, you cannot opt-out of the drive. Also, all these comes at a not so cheap price of $3,199, certainly not for penny pinchers according to the reviewer. But if you are a multimedia die-hard fan, then the Qosmio G45-AV690 is indeed a must-have system.
Pros:
-Great display
-Powerful speakers (Harman Kardon)
-Great graphics
Cons:
-HD-DVD instead of Blu-ray
