TomTom Navigator 5 Reviews

Summary of review published by Pocket PC — September, 2005 (page 65)

TomTom’s Navigator 5 is a GPS navigation program that can be purchased by itself or bundled with a GPS receiver. The reviewer hails Navigator 5 as the current leader in interface usability, since the menus and graphics are quite easy to read, understand, and access. The points of interest are boldly displayed, which includes cinemas and nightlife locations. Even the voice navigation feature is user-friendly, and there are several voices for you to choose from. You can also alter the color scheme and menus. Should you run into unexpected obstacles, Navigator 5’s roadblock feature instantaneously reroutes you. There is also a feature that allows you to simulate several possible routes before you select the one that you prefer. The routing engine of Navigator 5 is notably fast, although there are feature differences between the American and European versions. The European versions include information about traffic, speed cameras, and POI databases you can access via WAP. There are maps available for US, Canadian, and European users - all of which are derived from Tele-Atlas.
Pros:
-Fast routing engine
-Excellent user interface
-Voice navigation feature
Cons:
-None
