Moving from optical filters to digital film editing, Tiffen released a digital filtering software aimed at both still and video shooters of all skill levels. The Dfx software suite is comprised of a stand-alone software for still-image manipulation and the plug-ins for video editing. The plug-ins can only be utilized by a specific set of video editing applications, namely Avid, Final Cut Pro and Adobe's Premiere and After Effects. Installation is smooth, despite the need to install several programs which the reviewer found dubious due to their names. Using the filters is as simple as using other filters in Final Cut Pro. Every aspect of a filter can be adjusted to suit your taste. Though the Dfx offers a powerful set of filters, the reviewer concludes that with its price tag and the depth of available options, the product is best suited to someone who is not a complete amateur in terms of videography skills.
