Sony Vaio VGN-SZ791N/X Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — March, 2008

Sony is known for creating elegant notebooks, and the Sony VAIO VGN-SZ791N/X is no exception. For $2,499 you get an above average performing machine neatly tucked in good looking carbon-fiber casing. Housing a 13.3-inch XBrite LED-backlit panel, the reviewer stated that it was bright and vibrant and delivered sharp text and excellent detail. However, the reviewer stated that moving even slightly above the screen causes a brightness shift that washes out the image. The VGN-SZ791N/X also features nontraditional raised pads for that unique looks. It was also created security in mind by introducing TPM circuitry on-boards. Benchmark results were above average for the VGN-SZ791N/X. Applications immediately opens and the system still has enough spare power for multimedia fun. WiFi is on par with other systems in terms of throughput and range. A welcome addition to the VGN-SZ791N/X is the EV-DO Rev. A with service through Sprint. As for the battery life, you get an additional hour with the system, compared with other notebooks in its category. For a system that not only looks better but performs great as well, if you have the cash to spare, then the VGN-SZ791N/X is the system for you.
Pros:
-Elegantly designed
-Great performance
-Mobile broadband ready
Cons:
-No Blu-ray or HDMI
-Memory Card adapter optional
-A bit expensive
