Sony Vaio VGN-NR310E Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — June, 2008

A budget notebook doesn’t have to look cheap and the Sony VAIO VGN-NR310E is no exception. It features a classy, modern look and sturdy feel despite its tag price. It carries a 15.4-inch display capable of displaying 1280 x 800 pixels. The reviewer noted that while the vertical viewing angle of the VGN-NR310E is good, leaning 20 degrees left or right will turn the image to negative. The built-in speakers lacked the oomph, typical of budget laptops. The processor and RAM of the VGN-NR310E don’t offer much in the multimedia department, and benchmark scores for the graphic cards is low compared to mainstream notebooks. The reviewer noted that the VGN-NR310E is much more suited for productivity chores. Battery endurance is right on target for its category, providing power for 2 hours and 47 minutes. Wireless score of 12.27 Mbps at 50 feet from the access point is also passable. Another drawback with the Sony VAIO VGN-NR310E is the amount of preinstalled bloatware. In spite of this, the Sony VAIO VGN-NR310E is still a good option for those in the market for a notebook meant for simple productivity tasks and very light multimedia purposes
Pros:
-Stylish, svelte design for its price
-Bright display
-Good wireless throughput
-Good keyboard
Cons:
-Only 1GB RAM
-Bloatware included
