If you are looking for a real head-turner Bluetooth speaker, then you might want to check out Sony Ericsson MBS-100. Shaped like an asteroid, the MBS-100 is sure to draw a crowd. It measures 3.9-inch in diameter and is shaped like a softball. What keeps the MBS-100 from rolling off your desk is the pear-shaped base. While the shape is sure to attract onlookers, the reviewer notes that it’s almost impossible to plug a rubber-coated 3.5mm jack into the unit without bending the plug itself. Pairing the MBS-100 was a cinch. While sound quality sounded a bit compressed, it was tolerable. The low-range and the bass sounded great, though in the expense of mid- and high-ranges. Using the 3.5mm jack yielded better sound quality than the Bluetooth connection. The sound is louder and is less prone to distortion. The MBS-100 doesn’t have speakerphone capabilities. Also, it lacks any volume control in the unit itself, something which the reviewer views as critical to a Bluetooth speaker. If it’s an attractive Bluetooth speaker you are looking for, the Sony Ericsson MBS-100 is up to the challenge. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere.
