At first glance, the Sony Cyber-shot T300 looks very promising. It flaunts a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 10.1 megapixel sensor and the new ISCN mode from Sony, all housed in a very slim design that can fit in your back pocket. However, while it may win awards for its great design, it certainly won’t win any for its dismal image quality. Though the touchscreen looked great, learning the functions in it can be quite a task. The reviewer noted that even after a week, they still can’t figure out most of the functions. It also poses some trouble with the user randomly hitting a function while taking a shot, changing the camera’s settings. It does have great speed: it’s ready to shoot in less than a second and needs only half a second in between shots. However, the reviewer stated that overall picture quality was poor especially on objects at close range. Even with the optical image stabilizer as well as lack of movement, landscape photos were generally soft. On the bright side, the T300 captured skin tones quite well. Though it may have the looks, the lack in performance warrants that Sony goes back in the drawing board.
