The reviewer found this camera smaller than other Sony cameras, but as a compact camera, it’s a bit heavy. The 2.5-inch screen is easily visible outdoors, but it’s not as crisp as its counterparts on older models since it has fewer pixels. The lens is a Car Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, with 3x optical zoom. Although the W7 uses a Sony MemoryStick, it also has 32 MB of internal memory in case your MemoryStick is full or you can’t find a spare lying around. Another convenient feature is the battery - it’s a couple of rechargable AA NiMH batteries, which are less expensive than Li-ion ones. Also, you can use regular AA batteries, although the charge wouldn’t last long in this camera. The W7 also has some manual control, but it’s fairly limited and the camera is better for taking snapshots. The camera also has a remarkable absence of purple fringing, and an autofocus illuminator light helps you take better images in poor lighting conditions.
Pros:
-LCD display is large and viewable outdoors
-Internal memory of 32 MB
-Uses regular AA batteries
Cons:
-A bit bulky for a compact camera
-Image quality is ordinary
-Small viewfinder
