The DSLR niche is getting crowded every minute, and it takes something exceptional to make a product stand out. Sony hopes to increase its market share with the A350, a 14.2-megapixel DSLR that's available in different packages. It has a rubber grip that easily fits in the hand. It weighs only 1.5 pounds but still provides a nice solid feel. The reviewer noted that overall ergonomics and the straightforward menu system make the A350 one of the easier-to-use DSLR in the market. It offers plenty of shooting options, accessible via the mode dial at the top of the camera. The tilting ability and the Live View mode of the LCD make it one of the bright points for the A350. It uses a Pentameter Tilt that allows shooting in Live View to be just as fast as shooting with the optical viewfinder. It also has an in-camera image stabilization called the Super SteadyShot. Image quality is excellent, providing pictures with accurate color and good consistency. Low-light shots were acceptable until ISO 1600. Speed-wise, the A350 had a boot-up time of 1.2 seconds and a recycle time of 1.4 seconds, you'll have no trouble firing off successive shots. For an easy-to-use DSLR and great image quality, the Sony A350 is solid contender.
