Sonos Bundle 150 Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — October, 2008

Sonos improves its wireless home audio system line with the release of the new Sonos Bundle 150. The Bundle 150 includes the main ZonePlayer 120 (ZP120), the ZonePlayer 90 (ZP90), and the same excellent remote control. It works by utilizing your Wi-Fi network to access your PC's or Mac's music collection and stream it to as many zones as you choose to set up. The reviewer noted that the Bundle 150 doesn’t include speakers and compatibility might be an issue since neither ZonePlayer feature 3.5mm output. For the system to work, at least one of the two boxes must be connected to your router. Once done, the remaining unconnected ZonePlayer will communicate with the other using SonosNet. The remote control has a bright, 3.5-inch screen and sensibly placed buttons. It has a built-in sensor that recognizes when the remote is being picked up. Setup is made simple by the included software that's compatible to both Mac and Windows. The ZP120 features 55 watts per channel, allowing you to use larger speakers that require more juice. However, the Bundle 150 doesn’t come cheap. It costs $1,000 and brings music to only two separate rooms in your home. Adding more zones can be hefty. Nonetheless, if you have the money to spend, the Sonos Bundle 150 is a strong wireless home audio system choice.
Pros:
-easy setup
-excellent remote control
-seamless integration
-works with online music services
-can play different songs in different zones
Cons:
-music stops when signal is dropped
-requires the host computer to be constantly on
