Samsung SC-HMX10 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — April, 2008

Camcorder newbies will love the user-friendly Samsung SC-HMX10. It features a minimal control layout that lets you shoot 720p videos easily. Controls are easy to find and use and the LCD that handles all the UI menus through a touchscreen interface responded well However, the reviewer noted that the LCD could use a little more brightness in sunlight. You can easily store your videos using the onboard 8GB flash memory or using SDHC/MMC+ cards. Videos captured in broad daylight were extremely natural with sharp details and neutral cast colors. However, the reviewer noted that the clips were dull and in need of a bit more saturation. Using the HMX10’s progressive shooting mode produced less blur and more detail per frame than in interlaced format. However, in low light, there was significant noise and pronounced contrast. If you are a serious shooter, the reviewer recommends you look somewhere else. However, if you are looking for a simple HD camcorder without too much frills, the Samsung SC-HMX10 is a good option.
Pros:
-Light
-Intuitive design

Cons:
-Dull colors
-Low light detail problem
-Focus problem
