It’s easy to dismiss the Samsung Q310-34P as just another 13-inch thin-and-light notebook. After all, the glossy lid looks just like other systems in its category. However, once you lift the lid, you’d see the subtle but sophisticated Touch of Color design on the deck: the polished black contrasting with red gradation highlights. It measures 12.7 x 9.5 x 1.1 inches and weighs 4.8 pounds. This notebook comes with the requisite ports, including an ExpressCard/34 slot, an HDMI port, and a 7-in-1 memory card reader. The 1280 x 800-pixel screen is glossy but the visuals aren’t affected by distracting reflections. It also provided wide viewing angles. The speedy processor and 3GB RAM gave the Samsung Q310-34P the processing muscle to achieve above average scores in benchmark tests. The integrated 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi radio transferred data at a rate of 20.0 Mbps at 15 feet away and 16.6 Mbps at 50 feet. The six-cell battery provided power for 4 hours and 41 minutes. If you need more endurance, Samsung offers a nine-cell battery. Overall, despite the good performance, good endurance and excellent Vista experience, the reviewer stated that other 13-inch notebooks might offer better bang for your buck.
