Samsung Pebble YP-S2 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — August, 2008

Samsung decided to go against the digital audio player crowd by going small and simple with the Samsung YP-S2, or the Pebble. With its round, oblong, flat shape and an almost unnoticeable weight of 0.7 ounces, it does resemble a pebble. Beneath the unit is the basic, easy-to-use circular control setup. The biggest caveat of the Pebble is the lack of display. However, Samsung devised a cleverly-created color-coded LED lighting scheme to let you know what the player is currently doing. Equipped with Samsung’s proprietary DNSe 2.0 sound technology, the Pebble produced music that was vibrant, with a full, encompassing sound. It comes bundled with the Samsung Media Studio software that you can use to manage your music. For Mac users, the Pebble is compatible with iTunes, allowing you to just drag and drop your music files directly into the player. The battery provides a lengthy 10 hours of continuous music playback. If you can live with a player without a display, the Pebble is a stylish choice.
Pros:
-Inexpensive
-Great sound quality
-Simple design
Cons:
-No display
-Mediocre earbuds
