Samsung’s entry into the field of netbooks trumped all the other 10-inch systems currently available. The NC10 isn’t much of a looker, though it exudes a more professional aura than other systems. The matte white lid is plain, except for the mirrored Samsung logo. It weighs only 2.8 pounds with its six-cell battery and does not produce strain when carried in a shoulder bag. The NC10 features a 93 percent-full size keyboard layout which is comfortable and provides nice tactile feedback. But because of the keyboard size, Samsung had to cut down the size of the touchpad. It has the typical netbook ports but unlike the Lenovo S10, it lacks an ExpressCard slot. It has a wide, matte, 10.2-inch, 1024 x 600-pixel screen that the reviewer noted to be crisp and accommodating. The Atom CPU and 1GB of RAM provided seamless multitasking and benchmark scores for the graphics performance are above the category average. The NC10 comes with a six-cell battery that offers superior endurance. During tests, the NC10 lasted 6 hours and 34 minutes, obliterating the mini-notebook average of 2:27. Wireless throughput is strong as well, pushing data at a rate of 20.8 Mbps and 16.9 Mbps from 15 and 50 feet, respectively. If the tiny touchpad room isn’t a deal-breaker, the Samsung NC10 is currently the most well-rounded 10-inch netbook on the market.
Pros:
-spacious keyboard
-excellent battery life
-good speakers
-good web cam
Cons:
-small touchpad
-bland design
