The Samsung IP-830w for Sprint is a quad-band phone, making it a true global phone. This Smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 5 on a 520MHz processor by Intel. Like other Windows Mobile Smartphones, you can change the screen orientation on this device - from portrait to landscape and vice-versa. The touch screen itself is a good quality 2.8in QVGA display. The reviewer noted that the audio is much better on the 830w compared to its predecessors. The sliding QWERTY keypad is accessible by thumb, and a NumLock key lets you dial numeric information more easily. Included with the 830w is the VoiceSignal software that lets you make calls, open your favorite applications, and search your address book through programmed voice commands. Other bundled programs include Windows Mobile versions of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer. Although the unit can use Bluetooth 2.0 for connectivity, it doesn’t have ready Wi-Fi access. Along with the missing Wi-Fi access, the reviewer would’ve preferred a sync cradle with the 830w rather than a single USB sync/charge cable. The 830w is also missing a built-in camera that is commonly found with PocketPCs and Smartphones. Despite its limitations, this is still the reviewer’s favorite Smartphone.
