Although the design of the Digimax V700 is average, the quality of the camera isn’t. This 7 megapixel camera has 3x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The anti-shake feature also allows you to take reasonably clear photos at 30x zoom. The 2-inch LCD screen is bright and fairly readable outdoors. The Digimax V700 also has the ability to record sound for up to an hour. You can also capture 640x480 pixel movies at 30 fps, until the SD memory card is full. The camera may not look like it, but it has full manual control with shutter/aperture priority. The user’s manual included in the package is quite extensive at 135 pages, but it’s rarely needed, since the V700 is quite user-friendly. The picture quality is good, aside from some excessive purple fringing. The camera body feels sturdy and durable, despite being lightweight. The bundled software is useful, but no Mac version is included in the package. One of the best things about this camera is the price, since it is almost a hundred dollars cheaper than the competition.
Pros:
-User-friendly interface
-Impressive picture quality
-Affordable
Cons:
-Uninteresting design
-Disappointing shutter lag
-LCD not as readable outdoors
