Samsung Ace Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — February, 2008

The Samsung Ace is Sprint’s alternative to the BlackJack II. It has everything you need to get up and start doing international calls out of the box. However, the reviewer noted that when placed side by side with other similarly priced products, the Ace is found lacking: it has no GPS, WiFi and even instant messaging. However, it makes up with the overall design and speed. The keyboard feels great for texting and email. For world travelers, it has a SIM card slot and GSM/GPRS capabilities to work internationally, making it great for business. The Ace can also double up as a standalone media player. The reviewer found the small array of supported files an issue and the 2GB microSD limitation an even bigger one. When it comes to data delivery, the Ace syncs to Outlook as well as an Exchange Server. The network can handle email and web browsing, though browsing was evidently slow. During test calls, callers sounded sharp and only mildly compressed while the Ace’s microphone filtered out as much background noise as it can. The reviewer claimed that the Ace is a solid option for world travelers.
Pros:
-Nice keyboard
-GSM/GPRS capable
Cons:
-No WiFi
-2GB microSD limitation
-No IM client
