AT&T expands its mobile TV service arsenal with the release of the Samsung Access. With a design that looks a lot like the Blackjack II, the matte black Samsung Access comes instead with a standard alpha-numeric keyboard and a bright and sufficiently large 2.3-inch display. It features a similar interface as with most AT&T multimedia phones. It comes with AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo Messenger preloaded as well as a host of preset e-mail providers. Putting aside the small screen and the lack of landscape view, the reviewer noted that the mobile TV experience with the Access was impressive. The picture was bright and sharp, enough to be able to read even tickers. The built-in speakers produced loud and crisp sounds when listening to music. However, no over-the-air music download service was offered with the Access. Using HSPDA, web browsing was quite fast, with CNN loading in just 10 seconds. The Access comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera that lets you take snapshots and videos, albeit blurry and washed-out ones. The reviewer noted that though the call quality is acceptable, it could use more clarity. For great TV playback and snappy web experience, the Samsung Access is a phone worth considering.
