Research in Motion Blackberry Pearl 8120 T-Mobile Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — April, 2008

T-Mobile’s HotSpot @Home adds another unit in their lineup in the form of the BlackBerry Pearl 8120. With the ability to utilize home networks or hotspots to make unlimited calls, the Pearl 8120 may just take the place of your landline phone. It features enhanced multimedia capabilities such as a 2-megapixel camera, support for a multitude of audio formats as well as several video formats. Though the reviewer states that it does look more user-friendly than the T-Mobile’s BlackBerry 8100, the keyboard layout still makes it harder for new users of the 8120 to type their messages. Call quality in the 8120 in general were of very good quality, though there were a few times that the call glitches. On a full signal, the reviewer stated that the calls sounded crisp and of almost landline quality. Battery endurance of the 8120 was also good. Subjected to heavy use for 24 hours, the reviewer stated that it still had 2 bars left. If you are looking for a phone that can replace your landline phone, take advantage of your home network or hotspots, and have a plethora of multimedia and business capabilities, the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 may just be for you.
Pros:
-Wi-Fi calling
-Great call quality
