Research in Motion Blackberry Pearl 8120 AT&T Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — June, 2008

AT&T unveiled the newest Blackberry model, the 8120 Pearl. It has lots of improvements over older models such as more accessible memory card slot, a camera, and a web browser. It also includes a jack that works with standard music headphones, making it a useful media device. The 8120 maintains the same size as the previous models, and like older Blackberry models, it still has good sound quality. It also allows for extended memory via a miniSD slot. This Blackberry has a wider range of multimedia capabilities, since it plays MP3, AAC, WMA and 3GP file formats. The reviewer noted that an important feature lacking in this unit is an IM client. As of the review’s release, the 8120 Pearl is currently available for AT&T’s business customers, but it will be soon available for retail customers as well.
Pros:
-Thin design
-Superior e-mail application
-Better browser and headphone jack than previous models
-Convenient memory slot

Cons:
-Smooth keys
-Doesn’t have an IM client
-Can’t make calls via Wi-Fi
