Research in Motion Blackberry Curve 8330 Verizon Wireless Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — May, 2008

Verizon wireless customers will love the Blackberry release from RIM: the Blackberry 8330. By no means has a hand-me-down from AT&T’s 8310, the 8330 has its own twists to distinguish itself from the pack. It sports the same size and weight as the one provided by Sprint and the same spacious QWERTY keyboard, the bright and crisp 2.4-inch display with the trackball and four navigation buttons. Verizon offers its customized interface with its striking silver backdrop. Push e-mail works well with the 8330 and instant messaging setup is a breeze with the included installers. The reviewer also noted that surfing the Web is fastest with Verizon, though a Wi-Fi service would have made the deal even sweeter. A bit disappointing is the lack of over-the-air download and TV service, though you can easily port music and video files to the 8330. Video files need to be converted to MP4 format before the 8330 can play it. GPS performance is solid and the call quality is impeccable. A charge provided the reviewer two days of heavy use before dying. For those in need of a messaging device with the bells and whistles, the 8330 from Verizon is an excellent choice.

Pros:
-EV-DO connection
-GPS available
-Good call quality
-Can record videos
Cons:
-No over-the-air downloads
-microSD behind battery
