Research in Motion Blackberry 7100t Reviews

Summary of review published by Handheld Computing — July, 2005 (page 76)

This is the next generation of Blackberry, with a new keyboard and slimmed down for easier carry. Text input is adaptive auto-complete--type 2 letters and the rest of the word inserts. Reviewer was skeptical, but reported that it works very effectively. Push email is retained, along with the requisite Information Management software and can read Office documents and PDF files. Lacking WiFi, unit has to use T-Mobile's data service, and Bluetooth is suited only for short-range, such as headphone use. Bright, sharp display, but only 32 MB internal memory and no expansion slot limits storage. Web browser is usable, keeping in mind the PDA format. Battery life is excellent and voice clarity is superior, and bundle includes an auto-sensing belt holster that sets the 7100t for pocket mode, with different ring and/or vibration set. BlackBerry 7100t works well for what it does (email, web, phone, PDA) and does not try to do too much, but refinement is needed in minor areas.

-Excellent phone quality
-Adaptive text input works well
-Slimmed down model
-Push email
-Superb carry holster
Cons:
-Bluetooth limited
-No syncing
-Limited to 32 MB of internal memory
-No expansion slot
