Redrock Micro microFollowFocus Reviews

Summary of review published by DV Magazine — October, 2007 (page 25)

Redrock Micro’s follow focus is a simple unit that quietly performs its job well. When the reviewer tested it, focus pulls are silent and easy thanks to the dampened gearbox. Using a millimeter marking scale, gear play was measured at between 1.5mm to 2mm. Note that this is note the most flexible unit around as the focus gear is fixed to one side of the gearbox. Included in the package are three wide plastic lens gears that can be setup without tools. The reviewer praised the Redrock Micro for its reliability and excellent craftsmanship. Other units offer more features, but Redrock’s product is at the top in terms of bang-for-the-buck.
Pros:
-Solid build
-Nominal gear play
-Reasonably priced
-Comes with three matching lens gears
Cons:
-Non-rotating metal marking indicator
-Fixed focus gear
