RealNetworks Rhapsody Reviews

Summary of review published by PC Magazine — January, 2008

Rhapsody embraced the Web and enhanced its already robust features, thus making it the leader of music-subscription sites. But with its $12.99 monthly fee, most music lovers will be turned off. The good side is that by being a member you have access to Rhapsody’s huge catalog of music and videos. With all its music on the internet, you can stream anytime you want. But before you can do that, you need to download a plug-in. The player appears in a pop up window. Rhapsody edges Napster in features and site design, making it the number one music-subscription website available today.
Pros:
-Sizeable libraries streamed on the web
-Sells both DRM-free MP3s and licensed WMAs
-Generates a playlist based on rated songs
-Compatible with TiVo
-Most of the songs come with lyrics
Cons:
-Expensive than other music-subscription sites
-Player doesn’t show the album name
-Music videos require Real Player
-Needs Rhapsody client to purchase music
-Client not available for Mac and Linux users
