Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — June, 2008

If all you’d want is unhindered video recording sans the fuss, then you’d love the Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra. It comes in 2 different colors further enhanced by colored accents which can either be silver, orange, green, or pink. A 1.5-inch LCD, which the reviewer found to be cramped and quite impossible to use in bright sunlight, is used to frame your shot. It is housed in a slim and lightweight rectangular shaped body that’s a pleasure to hold. For storage, it carries a 2GB internal flash memory. The camcorder only has 4 buttons: Power, Play, Record and Delete, making its operation a cinch. The Flip Video Ultra can take 640 x 480-pixel resolution videos. The video quality is definitely good, though not as vivid when compared to other MiniDV camcorders. The software bundled with the Flip Video Ultra makes editing and sharing your videos a breeze. You can directly upload your edited video to YouTube or AOL Videos. And since most user-generated videos end up in either of the two uploading sites, the Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra’s ease of use and strong software suite makes it perfect for the job.
Pros:
-Better video quality
-Very simple to operate
-Easy transfer and upload
-Light and small
Cons:
-No zoom
-Small LCD
-No still image option
