The cardinal rule of computing, desktop or palmtop: Backup, Backup, Backup! It is now easy to backup with ProPorta's ProBackup SD card for Palm. A self-contained backup solution, the SD card contains self-running backup software, so all you do is plug it in and the Palm will display 2 buttons: Restore and Backup. Initial backup takes a few minutes but subsequently speeds up, as it is an incremental solution, backing up only changes. As it is designed to back up internal memory in case of failure (or coffee spilled), it backs up only internal hardwired memory and not expansion, but since expansion is by definition removable it shouldn't be an issue. It comes in 2 capacities of 32 MB ($33.45) and 128 MB ($49.95). The reviewer recommends the larger card size, as a future upgrade of Palm may find it necessary, and the price difference is minor, considering the huge difference in capacity. This is a great product, but only for those who care about what's on their Palm.
