Plantronics unveils its first noise-canceling headset sporting the dual-microphone technology, the Voyager 835. Compared to its predecessors, the Voyager 835 has a lower-profile look with its rectangular shape, rounded edges, and shiny black plastic body. The clear plastic hook rotates to hug the ear, though the unit came with no additional hooks or earbuds. Charging the Voyager 835 can be done via the car charger or an AC adapter, both of which comes bundled. Aside from the dual-microphone technology, Plantronics also employ a proprietary DSP algorithm, called AudioIQ and WindSmart technology. The reviewer noted that indoors, callers can hear them perfectly. However, stepping outside produced a distracting background noise. The Voyager 835 had a rated range of 33 feet. The reviewer noted that at 33 feet the connection was already patchy but still understandable. Connection was thoroughly cut at 45 feet. While not the best noise-canceling headset in the market, the lower price and flexible charging solutions make the Plantronics Voyager 835 a compelling choice.
