Picnik.com Picnik Reviews

Summary of review published by Connected Photographer — August, 2007

While there are many image editors around like the powerful Photoshop, sometimes your needs don’t merit purchasing software for hundreds of dollars. If you have access to the Internet, one great option is to Picknik.com - a free online image editor. Simply upload an image to their site and you’ll be able to crop, resize, rotate and do all the basic features you’d expect in an image editor. There are also advanced features such as red-eye removal, exposure correction, and filters. When you’re done, you have the option to save on your computer, or directly to web albums like Flickr and Picasa. Don’t worry about speed because this site and its graphic engine are quite fast. Picnik is in the Beta stage, meaning they have yet to release the full or stable version. However, it’s still fun to use and very convenient. The reviewer does note that Picnik lacks the option of overlaying text to an image, but expects that this will be addressed in future updates. Perhaps the best thing about Picnik is that it is compatible with all platforms, from Windows, to Macs, and even Linux.
