Petroff Mini Follow Focus Reviews

Summary of review published by DV Magazine — October, 2007 (page 24)

The Petroff Mini is a well-built and capable unit. It has all the features you need at a price that’s reasonable to your pocket. Although its gearbox is not dampened, gear action is still noiseless â€" a testament to fine craftsmanship. Tested with a millimeter marking scale, the reviewer found a mere 1mm-1.5mm of play in the gearbox. Several other features were tested as discussed in the review, and the unit performed well. On the whole, the Petroff Mini is a solid choice that can capably handle 35mm cinema PL and 35mm still lenses. The Mini, great as it is, is what Petroff considers as its low-end model. If you want a replaceable white marking ring to go with your unit, you can get one by shelling out a few hundred dollars more.
Pros:
-Well built
-Easy to use
-Good features
Cons:
-Marking ring not very readable
