Panasonic Strada CN-GP50U Reviews

Panasonic decided to go elegant with its GPS device, the Panasonic Strada CH-GP50U. It comes in a glossy, jet-black, almost button-free bezel that’s oozing with style. The menu provides easy access to the most-used features. A large checkered-flag button leads you to destination options, while smaller on-screen buttons let you access GPS information and device settings. The maps are clear, colorful, and well designed. However, the reviewer noted that the POI database is a mess. It only has a very anemic 1.8 million entries. Also, searching through the categories was painstakingly hard. While a clever navigation assistant makes highway driving easy, it was slow to calculate a route, taking 20 to 30 seconds to finish. The Strada offers voice-command, but the user must create one. Once an address is entered, an option to create a voice command shows up. In case you want to go to that address again, just press the voice-command button, speak the command, and navigate to that destination. The Strada also offers a Bluetooth service that works with a Bluetooth phone. The Panasonic Strada CH-GP50U is indeed a looker, but it needs a few improvements just to be able to compete with the big boys.
Pros:
-sleek design
-street pronunciation
-clear maps
-voice commands
Cons:
-very small POI database
-poor POI interface
-slow route calculation
