With the AVCHD format gaining maturity, there has been a mad scramble to produce even better HD camcorders. One such camcorder is the Panasonic AG-HMC150. The design of the AG-HMC150 is well-thought out. It has the right balance of manual controls that are easy to reach and a camcorder housing that’s not littered with too many buttons. Despite its large design, the AG-HMC150 is light. This allows for better stability without giving you the cramps. The variable frame rates and several different recording quality options cater to a wide array of shooters. It comes with a wide-angle lens that starts at 28mm - good for wide-viewing angle. It features the same color and gamma controls to that of the AG-DVX100 and AG-HVX200 models. The color reproduction of this AVCHD camcorder, together with the progressive scan CCDs captures clear images. The AG-HMC150 is no slouch in the audio department, providing two XLR inputs equal two channels of audio that can be controlled independently. On top of the unit is a a shotgun microphone holder. Despite being limited to Dolby AC3 audio recording format, the reviewer stated that the AC3 audio performed quite well. All in all, the excellent performance and good design of the AG-HMC150 is a solid choice for an AVCHD camcorder.
