Palm Treo 800w Sprint Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — July, 2008

In an effort to win back its place in the business-smart phone market, Palm released its update to the Treo 700wx, the Windows Mobile-powered Treo 800w. Foregoing the awkward curves and the blocky antenna, the 800w features smooth edges and straight lines - reminiscent of the Centro according to the reviewer. It has a 1.7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. The phone’s base features a 34-button QWERTY pad, with keys that are amply spaced and very responsive. The 800w also gets an upgrade in terms of storage space and processing power, making overall performance a bit snappier. With its EV-DO Rev. A connection, web surfing is quite fast, even for full HTML sites. The 800w can also function as a GPS navigator, thanks to Sprint Navigation. Watching Sprint TV is a pleasure because of the large display. Calls made with the 800w were crystal clear, even when using a Bluetooth headset at 25 feet across three rooms. However, you might want to keep the charger at arm’s length, as the 800w never survived a full 24 hours. Nonetheless, for those looking for Office and Exchange, the Palm Treo 800w is a good choice.
Pros:
-Comfortable design
-Integrated GPS
-Fast web experience
-Excellent call quality

Cons:
-Below average battery life
-No 3.5mm headphone jack
