Optoma TX7155 Reviews

Summary of review published by Laptop Magazine — March, 2008

When looking for an ultraportable projector, there are several standard features you you will look for: lightweight, bright, accurate colors, and also a full-featured remote. With the Optoma TX7155, you get all these, plus a few more extras. Weighing it at 3.2 pounds, the TX7155 offers the usual ports you would need such as VGA, composite, S-Video and audio connectors. It goes even further with the HDMI port that allows for digital video. The remote is full-featured, but the reviewer stated that the amount of buttons may be confusing. During lab tests, the TX7155 wasn’t able to deliver when used in Presentation mode. Only when it was switched to Bright mode did it deliver a score of 2264 lumens. The reviewer also noted that the TX7155’s High Contrast were the lowest they have seen on a unit with DLP imaging engine, producing a paltry 229:1. On the other hand, the cooldown time of the unit was only 15 seconds. Despite these flaws, if you add in the generous three-year warranty that features a one-year warranty on the lamp, the reviewer stated that the Optoma TX7155 is a good choice for an ultraportable.
Pros:
-Light
-Full-featured remote control
-One year warranty on lamp

Cons:
-Remote control not intuitive
