The first thing that the reviewer noticed about the C-7000 is its excellent ergonomic design. The shape of the camera body just fits right into your hand, and the aluminum body feels sturdy. The 5x optical zoom beats the standard 3x optical zoom featured in a lineup of similar cameras. Along with the digital zoom, this camera can pack a powerful 30x magnification. The 2-inch LCD screen is also impressive, since the display quality is great outdoors and can be visible from wide viewing angles. The menus take a bit of getting used to, although they are displayed quite legibly. Other great features include redeye removal, manual control, 12 shooting modes, and a fast image processor. Since it’s not as user-friendly as it should be, using the C-7000 requires you to look through the manuals. However, the printed manuals contain limited information, so you’ll need to look at the PDF manual included in the CD. The bundled software is useful at times, but it’s a bit confusing when it comes to processing RAW files. All in all, this is quite a powerful camera for its size, making it ideal for snapshots.
