Olympus Wide Zoom C-7070 Reviews

The reviewer found the Olympus Wide Zoom C-7070 quite heavy. It’s approximately two times the size of a similar camera, the Olympus Zoom C-7000. However, the C-7070 offers more features. The LCD screen is the type you can flip-up and twist, so you can take overhead shots, low-angle shots, and hold the camera sideways. Despite its flexibility, the LCD screen is merely 1.8-inches, but is visible outdoors and at wide viewing angles. The viewfinder has good diopter adjustment, and a secondary status display on top of the camera allows you to see image settings at all times. You can also use 2 types of storage cards with this camera - an xD-Card or a CompactFlash card. In a lineup of cameras, the reviewer found the C-7070 battery to be the strongest. The super macro images from this camera are impressive, so is the 7x optical zoom. The autofocus setting is flexible, allowing you to target the areas that you want to keep in focus. The movie mode also allows you to record 640x480 pixel pictures at 30 fps, including sound. The C-7070 also allows for full manual control, making it a good choice for both beginners and advanced users.
Pros:
-Impressive super macro mode and wide angle zoom
-Loads of features, including full manual control
-Ergonomically designed
Cons:
-LCD display is only 1.8 inches
-Approximately one pound heavy
-Unimpressive audio quality

Relatively inexpensive for its features, the Olympus C7070 offers a professional photo-taking experience with a wide-angle lens, its top of the line image sensor, and new autofocus modes. The camera's design is rugged and durable, but the LCD is sensitive enough to show relative brightness within a picture and swivels naturally against the camera. Barrel-distortion is a possibility, but software can correct the problem.
Pros:
-rugged, compact body design
-lots of memory choices
-good performance
Cons:
-teleconverter loses light
-low ISO equivalent
-some controls awkwardly placed
