The first thing the reviewer noticed about the Stylus 600 is its thickness and heft. The camera body is 1 inch thick, and almost 2 inches when the 3x zoom lens extends. However, this all makes sense because Olympus boasts of the camera’s features and durability rather than its sleekness. What contributes to this cameras durability is the protective rubber rings and gaskets sealing the doors and latches of the camera and a strong material serves as the lens cover when the camera is off. These make the Stylus 600 great for outdoor shooting. Even the large 2.5 inch LCD screen is protected by an acrylic sheet. As for its performance, the camera takes 6 megapixel images, and the battery promises to last for around 300 images. The camera has around 24 scene modes for your basic point-and-shoot needs. Movie recording is at 640x480 pixels, but only at 15 frames per second and without sound. One feature that the reviewer appreciated is the power jack and USB connector, which makes synchronizing and charging more convenient for the Stylus 600. Although the pictures are usually of great quality, it takes a little experience to get them all looking perfect.
Pros:
-Big LCD display and long battery life
-More durable than most, has a bit of protective weather sealing
Cons:
-Isn’t as slim and compact as it should be for a camera of its caliber
-Built-in memory is small
-Menus take a bit of getting used to
-No audio capabilities
