Olympus Sports Zoom C-5500 Reviews

Summary of review published by Digital Camera Magazine — October, 2005

The Sport Zoom is not a fancy camera, and that's Olympus' goal. The camera sports 5.1 megapixels, a 5X optical zoom (internal when camera is off) that combines with the 4X digital, and optional SuperMacro modes. At its highest zoom, pictures blur a bit, but that's to be expected, and it's nothing to worry about since your purchase also comes with TruePic TURBO software that effectively cleans pictures. The camera also allows you to correct blown out color before you snap the picture. You can even record movies with an anti-shake feature. The camera operates quickly through startup and autofocus functions and has a nice range of both automatic and manual modes.
Pros:
-legible icons
-2-inch LCD
-correct blow outs before taking pictures
-quick startup and autofocus
Cons:
-a bit large
-not the most comfortable camera
