T-mobile expanded its line of multimedia phones by enlisting the higher-end cousin of the Nokia 5310, the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic. The 5610 comes in slider design that’s almost twice as thick as the 5310. It has a larger 2.2-inch display that’s sufficient for surfing and bright enough to use outdoors. Replacing the full-size 3.5mm headphone jack is the smaller 2.5mm jack. On the bright side, a 3.5mm adapter is included and doesn’t feel cumbersome to use. The reviewer noted that the UI used by the 5610 has jagged icons and sluggish animation, making it somewhat unsightly. It comes with a 2GB microSD card for storing music and videos. However, over-the-air downloads is still a no-go for T-mobile users. Web browsing through EDGE isn’t bad; pages loaded at acceptable speeds. The 5610 allows for e-mail and messaging, though there’s no way to setup one’s own IMAP or POP3 account. The camera’s 3.2MP camera was good enough for 4 x 6 prints, providing crisp and accurate images. Calls made through the 5610 sounded very clear and void of any static and the battery life was stellar. Fans of sliding phones will find something to love with the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic.
