Noise Industries FxFactory Pro 2.0 Reviews

Summary of review published by VideoMaker — April, 2008

FinalCut Studio, Motion and FinalCut Express users in need of a versatile new set of options to put a spark in their work might want to check out Noise Industries' FxFactory Pro 2.0. It is available for download rom the Noise Industries website for a 15-day free trial and the full retail version costs $399. Installing the software was quite smooth. FxFactory launches into its plug-in manager application that lets users view which plug-in packages are installed, and enable, disable or modify them accordingly. It comes with an easy-to-use help system that is included with the plug-in manager, though the reviewer stated that it was on the sparse side. The included plug-ins are versatile, they look good and they render quickly. If you feel that the included plug-ins need a more “personal” touch, FxFactory allows you to go behind the plug-in system. With Apple's Quartz Composer, you can tinker with existing plug-ins and even create your own, though the reviewer noted that this is not for the beginner or even intermediate user. The seamless integration with FinalCut, the quick and easy to install plug-ins, and the ability to create your own plug-ins make the FxFactory Pro 2.0 a solid post-production software.

Pros:
-fast rendering
-very customizable
-wide range of effects
Cons:
-has a learning curve
