Network Appliance StoreVault S300 Reviews
Summary of review published by PC Magazine — March, 2008
The StoreVault S300 is NetApp’s attempt in delivering a network storage solution for small and medium sized businesses. It has 3TB of storage space and is meant to be placed on top of your desk. A few glitches are found because it is still a work in progress. It just has to improve o some of its interfaces because it is as not user-friendly as some of the SMB NAS available in the market today. The reviewer suggests for you to let the vendor install it for you as it runs on an enterprise operating system. After that, it performs smoothly as it should be. The reviewer ran a barrage of tests on it and it passed them all.
Pros:
-Fast iSCSI performance
-Compatible with iSCSI and external Fibre Channel are networks
Cons:
-Rough installation procedures
-Proprietary operating system
-Additional license fees for future expansions
